What

SCROLL DOWN

What

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi MUN is the result of the work of an enthusiastic group of students and in our firm belief that the Model United Nations is the breeding ground for tomorrow’s leaders. We live in an increasingly complex –and sometimes bleak– world and that’s why we need Model UN to serve as a crucial reminder of how our youth actually is: inspired, hard-working and tolerant.

The values that Model UN teaches are very important in our present-day world, and even more so significant in the Middle East. Therefore, when we found out that there was no major international Model United Nations in Abu Dhabi, we just knew someone had to do it, and as the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi MUN Secretariat we are all for being that someone.

Where

Where

When one talks of Abu Dhabi, the first thing that comes to mind is glittering skyscrapers amongst dunes – and with good reason, but there is so much more. Abu Dhabi is an oasis of culture in its streets and museums, a global hub bustling with energy, which illustrates the horizon of possibilities at the start of the 21st century.

Our host university is none less than the Sorbonne, one of the most respected, and oldest, academic institutions in the world. It is a name that echoes great philosophers, revolutionary thinkers, and intellectual triumphs.

When

When

Your comfort matters to us, and given that the Emirates lives on desert safaris and tanning under the sun, we know that “business formal attire” doesn’t go too well with “desert”. This is why we have chosen to hold the conference during spring, at a time when the wind will be ruffling through your hair and remain ideal for relaxing at the beach after a long day debating ways to change the world.

From the 11th to the 13th of April, 2019

Presented to you on a Thursday to Saturday format that is not too disruptive –for the busy ones, which, let’s face it, is most of us– so that you have Sunday to prepare to get back to your routine and the post-MUN blues.

Why

Why

The Sorbonne, the Louvre, the fastest roller coaster in the world, the skyscrapers, the camels, the Arabic coffee… why NOT?

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi MUN is created by students with clear priorities: we wanted to keep it medium sized: not too big that it gets out of control nor so small that you run into that delegate you spilled your karak all over last night.

We want to give the social events a new spin –and the beaches of Abu Dhabi gave us the perfect chance.

Above all, this MUN will not only be an opportunity to learn and grow, but also the perfect chance to immerse yourself in a different culture, or on the contrary, to celebrate what you know best in a cosmopolitan framework of open debate, multinational delegates and the overarching structure of the United Nations.
